Shahu's anti-caste fight:-
To promote education in Bahujan Samaj, he made school education compulsory and free in Kolhapur. In 1919, in order to destroy untouchability, he stopped the method of imparting separate schools of untouchables and untouchables. To remove the caste discrimination, they have enacted a law that recognizes inter-caste marriages in their state. In order to get the Bahujan community to work in political work, he established the Deccan Raity Association in 1916 at Nipani. The Vedoka Case in its tenure is considered as a subject of study. On July 6, 1902, Shahu had reserved 50% seats for the backward castes in the Kolhapur state, it was considered the biggest decision taken for backward castes.
